Potential Alumni Interview/Story

She was born in Kenya amd lives in Somerville. She just finished her masters degree at Simmons, where she excelled. She is applying to Ph.D. programs. She might be willing to catch the train out to Gordon if someone else would pay for it (I’d be glad to meet her on one end or the other, and arrange both if needed). If you’d like a wonderful interview for a digital spot (even if it’s only in the can—so long as it’s used later), she’s your woman! ----- She is a successful Gordon story, extremely articulate, probably could give you some good themes on current African development or response to the middle east unrest or info on women in Egypt or a different perspective on colonialism/women. One title I saw on her Facebook page is: “where do we go from here? Chaos or community.” She would laugh if you gave her that topic, think a minute, and give some good responses, I think. Her master’s thesis was: “The Confluence of Colonialism and Patriarchy: An Analysis of Luo Women's Relationship to Agency”. She is Luo (I believe). Was a CCC mentor when she was at Gordon. Is focusing on health care issues/delivery in African cultures; applying to Yale, Brandeis... Impressive. Her brother Donald Sanya is a financial advisor in Boston, just made vice president or partner (I forget which). You probably already have his name in your files. He always shows up at the alumni reunions in Boston. You could probably call her and ask her some prepared questions and have more than enough for a Notes or sidebar in Stillpoint or a picture/story on www.gordon.edu.
